This must be the month of documentary’s. Our good friend and local San Diego artist, Mike Maxwell forwarded us the trailer for his documentary and we thought you’d enjoy it.
The Self Made Man
We had the honor of including Luke Wessman in our last art exhibit, Eighth Ply. Luke is an amazing person, tattoo artist, and truly Self Made. He resides in Southern California and spends a majority of his time tattooing at Lucky’s Tattoo Parlor in downtown San Diego.
Eighth Ply Recap
Take a bunch of great San Diego artists, a stack of used skateboard decks, numerous trips around town, several late nights, a company that makes unique displays, a rad venue, and thousands of action sports industry heads destroying our fine city, and you get Eighth Ply and all the mayhem that surrounded it.
Live Free Wall
If you are in San Diego tonight, make sure to stop by MCASD’s TNT for the unveiling of Mike Maxwell’s Live Free Wall. The Live Free Wall was painted by 26+ artists over a ten day period. Over 18,000 photos were compiled together to create a 10 minute time-lapse of the project. The event starts at 7p and will be packed, so make sure to get there early.
