Q + A with Eric Wixon

Sep 27th, 2010

Eric Wixon

We met Eric Wixon in early 2008 through good friend and photographer Russell Spencer. We’ve always been amazed by Eric’s artwork and have enjoyed watching it evolve over the past few years. We continuously approach him with crazy ideas, so when we decided to make our first run of Limited Edition Prints…we knew he’d be ready to join in on the fun.

We were able to track Eric down via cyberspace to get this exclusive interview.

How are you doing today?

Swell.

What city do you call home?

A lil’ hicktown in the heart of it all.

We heard that you surf, how long have you been surfing?

Not long enough.

We noticed that you had a television hanging from the ceiling of your home. Can you tell what made you think of hanging your television that way?

Needed to be able to get my bike in and out of the apartment easily (my tv is 10 yrs old and a bit of a tank).

How did you get involved with We Love Creativity?

The collective roots.

Is there a story behind your Limited Edition Print, Bird Flyin Away?

Was doodling and made the face-conglomeration-kinda-deal which I decided to call Identity Crisis, than I made the bird-hand-sorta-thing and decided to combine the two and call it Bird Flyin Away. A little WLC computer magic and presto. Came out of a 2 yr relationship not long before so I guess…girl gone + brief identity crisis = rad print. I basically stole the title (there is a Mason Jennings album titled Birds Flying Away).

Is there anything else about you that you would like the world to know?

I hope to simplify my life for a better understanding of purity.
